Day 57 - Burgos Spain - Rest Day ! The couple go their own way !

Like all good relationships time apart can do wonders so after guiding H into the centre of town so he wouldn`t get lost (Ironically I did though) we parted company and had the best part of the day to our selves.

Ironically we both started off checking out the astounding Burgos Cathedral an astonishing building. A combo of Gothic and Romansque styles and designed by the leading architects of Europe the cathedral was started in the 13th Century and completed nearly 300 years later !

The big difference in this Cathedral is its interior with amazing chapels of intricate designs depicting the life of Christ and recognizing the many archbishops and key people instrumental in the building of the Cathedral.

The old saying `youve seen one church youve seen them all` is definitely not applicable to this UNECE listed cathedral.

Most of the rest of the day was spent wandering down alleyways catching up on needed provisions and repairs and in my case sampling some Paella and some local beer as it is festival time here !

H after his walk decided he'd brake his own world record by reading his 2nd consecutive book - all i can say is that anything that keeps him quite and stops him farting (not likely ) is fine by me.

Tomorrow we head across country to Aguilar de Campo, the first day of our 3 day journey to the coast and some much needed time by the beach complete with fresh air !!!!
