Kevs Word !

YOU BOBBY BOTTLER !

Yes - take or is it 3,4 or 5 - whatever, we are finally underway after 3 frustrating days after waiting for Mikes bike repairs.

The pace was a cracker and the Kms seemed to tick by rapidly well at least the first one when Miles pesky brake noise returned, but after backing off the brake caliphers a smidge we were off again.

Next came the back brake problem with the rotor disc this time the culprit a slight re centre and problem solved !

It was brilliant to cycle through small quaint villages with the sun on our backs passing by lovely Dutch houses with sharply raked roofs and in some cases unseaworthy boats in the canals surrounding their houses.

Incredible network of bike paths across the NL makes for great cycling but if you are not a local you have a constant task of stopping at each junction to check the Map. This can make for stop start cycling which can be a frag frustrating.

The headwind really picked up in the arvo and was tough going but we finally made it to Gorinchem and our Hotel.

When I booked the hotel room there was a large 10 kg jar of licorice on the reception desk from which i grabbed a handful - it was disgusting - it tasted like ammonia so I gave some to Mike, he loved it !

After another 3 attacks on the jar and it was down to 53 grams and the hotel staff were less than impressed.

Dinner at the hotel and Mega ordered soup and was duly presented with 2 small jars of soup - hmmmm, an interesting presentation we thought

Both were wolfed down by hoover Litchfield and then his real soup arrived , what was the first one we asked - supposed to be one each said the waiter, he was so embarrassed he brought me another one !
