Some memorable moments !

It is not hard to work out why France is one of the favourite destinations in Europe for cycle tourists.

The open scenery and the plethora of medieval villages combined with the food bread and pastries (when anything is open) and the abundance of quiet country roads makes cycling in this country such a beautiful experience !

Our experiences have been many, funny at times and even poignant at others -

Just a few -

- Henley`s attempt to get into the swimming pool area recently in Buzies by trying unsuccessfully to crack the child proof lock for 5 minutes until a French local took sympathy on him and opened the gate !

- My statement upon leaving Cirq la Poppie going the wrong way - ` I thought when it said continue in the same direction it meant the other direction ` !

- Hearing a constant large truck type noise trailing us yesterday i finally turned around to see a huge tractor complete with hay bales drafting Henley at about 10km/hr- one barge ass following another !

- After see many squashed snakes on the road finally seeing a live one slither across the road in front of me in the heat the other day ..... uggghhh !

- Henleys attempt to take out our hotels TV recently after he sconed himself walking around his bed. The TV on an angle hanging from the wall was odds on to be hit by one of us - H`s response was like a prize fighter as he nearly launched the TV through the wall with a deft combo of left and rights !

- The tragic reminder of war in France. The nearly 2 million men lost in WW 1 constituted almost 4 % of the population at that time and is marked in nearly every town you go through by a long list of names !

- The no. Of French people who think we've cycled here from Australia - do we honestly look that knackered !

- An attempt earlier on in the trip by Henley to secure a tube of Bepantherem a lubricant designed to prevent chafing in the crutch area ! With H`s French not so good he considered `charading`his need at the local supermarket to a female shop assistant - thankfully she poke broken English and as a result Henley was not arrested !
