Day 95 - Poole Dorset

With little sleep as a result of the hotels position on the main road and with sunny Dorset beckoning we left Kingscote to head to beautiful Bath a world heritage site with its world famous spa.

Just walking around the city was a delight with many lovely Georgian buildings, an abbey, scenic canal areas and lovely Pulteney bridge an18th century marvel. Bath apparently receives some 3.8 million tourists annually !

Having done our tourist thing our we headed escaping from the city's traffic snarl towards the lovely Cottswold village of Castle Combe sometimes described as the prettiest village in England. It's other claims to fame include hosting numerous movies including Dr Doolittle with Rex Harrison in the 60's and in 2012 War Horse produced by Stephen Speilberg !

Back driving we passed by Avebury and Marborough and the area"s white chalk hills before heading south towards Salisbury and Poole just in time to battle the extensive peak hour traffic of this populous area.

With our GPS battery running out we made it just in time to the home of good friends Kev and Julia who we met on our Tibet epic in 2010 and again in Berchtesgaden in 2011.

Kev and Julia have graciously offered to host our company for a couple of days to show us around the area allowing us to do some final cycling before heading home
