Day 94 - Kingscote - Cotswolds

Thankful of securing overnight accommodation we left Dunfermline heading over the "creek" (with the new Edinburgh bridge being built - something about the old one falling down !) heading towards Glasgow then taking the A 6 south.

For the driving conniseur the UK motorways is a not to be missed experience - where else can you get the sensation that you've entered the Indianapolis 500 with a starting line up the size of the Sth Eastern freeway in peak hour !

Despite the fast moving traffic where speed limits appear arbitrary the process of overtaking etc appears very orderly and without the road rage we experience so often back home.

The downsides are obvious a) the volume of cars b) how 1 accident can quickly cause grid lock !

We were quickly to see both a) when nearing Manchester b) when nearing Birmingham where a traffic accident had caused a 5 km tailback for nth traveling cars and traffic congestion on our side caused by all the rubber neckers !

A couple of stops at the massive services areas helped us stay awake and after 800+ kms we were winding our way through the lovely Cotswolds to our destination at Kingscote a couple of houses and a pub (our accommodation) on the main road.

Its obvious that Kev's injury is not healing based on his geriatric walking style. Options include a) amputation of said leg using bike multi tools and cable ties b) making an appointment with a Dr.

Kev wisely chose b) as my multi tool is a little blunt !

With the help of friends in Bournemouth some 2 hours away we will see if we cant get H put out of his misery while i do some more cycling in this beautiful part of the world !

PS

In answer to B2 this blog is put painstakingly together on a nexus 7 tablet. There are many blog hosting addresses but this one is hosted @ blogger.com.

Tablets / phones even have a great ability these days to record blogs and take / post photos making them an ideal travel companion. The only curse I find is the predictive text sometimes a help but also sometimes an annoyance. There was the time I sent a link thinking I'd typed as a link litchy blogspot to find out later the text had changed to itchy blood spots directing the person to graphic photos of genatalia with blood spots !!!!
